Light, shadow,
and the slow image.
I'm Danial Mohajery, a photographer who's stuck in the past, more accurately, in film photography. Here I expose my work, away from all the social media noise, hoping for a longer attention span and interacting with enthusiasts.
About
A short note.
What is the threshold for human adaptivity? Have I already exceeded it? I believe that humans, although capable and resilient, are bound to physical and biological frames. We build machines to fly, yet no one has ever flown by flapping their bare arms. Likewise, we have generated so much to be extremely efficient and fast, but I fear our ancient bodies and brains are falling behind.
After doing digital photography for years, I find myself progressively drawn to slow processes that, in a sense, are exposed to randomness and fault. Analog photography has been the perfect substitute; prolonged looks at a scene, person, or anomaly, knowing that at best I have 36 shots. Liberated from the obsession to get the sharpest image among 100s of burst shots, I find the headspace to observe the story of each frame. And that’s what I want to transfer through my work.
Your story is worth hearing, even if I cannot freeze it in a frame.
